Jed Williams
Principal Broker

As owner and broker of Hagan Realty, Jed has been involved in all aspects of the operations of the business. Since expanding the business to hire the additional agents, marketing director, market analyst, and editor, Jed has been able to focus his attentions on being the Principal Broker. Fortunately for our clients, Jed loves being active and visible in the real estate market, so he still takes on clients as an agent.

Like many on Hagan's staff, Jed has come to settle in Maryland, but not before living in multiple locations State-side and internationally. Jed was born in West Virginia and lived in North Carolina until he was four. He then attended school in Maryland until college when he moved to Montreal, Canada, to attend McGill University. He finished his schooling and started his first business, a computer consulting company serving commercial real estate companies, in Sydney, Australia. After three and a half years in Australia, Jed moved back to the metro area to start Hagan Realty in 2001.

Jed has lived and sold homes in DC, Virginia, and Maryland since starting Hagan. He knows the areas and the markets they generate not only from a real estate agent's point-of-view, but from that of an insider as well. Jed's passion for real estate is evident from a client's first meeting with him. His knowledge and calm demeanor lets our clients know they will be well taken care of and eases any uncertainties they may have about these important transactions.

The two things that can always pull Jed away from his love of working is his daughter, Tahlia, and wife, Michelle. He also enjoys reading and hiking, and has recently taken up photography as a hobby.

I've bought two houses with Jed and sold one. All fantastic experiences. I recommend him to everyone I know and he's the only person I would use if I was in the market again in the greater Montgomery County area.

What sets Jed apart:
- He is a real estate geek - understands neighborhoods very well in terms of houses available, values, and trends
- He is very knowledgeable on houses themselves, with a solid referral network in case you need something - he referred a number of providers that we still use today for cleaning, plumbing, termites, and other services
- He is well-versed on the homebuying process - contracts, inspections, and all the little details that can save you time, money, and headaches; we learn something every time we have dealt with him

About a year ago Jed helped us buy our dream home. Throughout the entire process Jed was thoughtful, patient, attentive, and creative. From our first meeting, it was clear his goal was to help us find the best home for our family. The questions he asked helped us figure out what our priority criteria were (which aren’t always the same and not necessarily what catches your eye in a listing). He also helped make sure we financially prepared to jump when the right place came on the market.

We viewed our home on Friday and instantly fell in love. It had just come on the market two days earlier and an open house was scheduled for that Sunday. The market was heating up and the house was at the top of our price range (of course). Jed jumped into action. He did some quick research to make sure the price was reasonable and guided us through the bidding process. He helped us make our best offer that day in hopes of avoiding a bidding war. It was a stressful weekend, but Jed was in constant contact and he even stopped by the open house to assess our possible competition. There is no question we have our home because of his savvy negotiation skills.

Buying a home is a stressful and complicated process. Jed went above and beyond to help us throughout the process from the contract negotiations to the inspection and appraisal to being the first to shake our hands at the closing. It is clear he takes great joy and pride in his work. I am grateful we had the opportunity to work with Jed and recommend him without reservation.
